Date: October 23, 2021 Time: 9:00 - 10:30 A.M Wow! What an exciting and fun speech session we had today! The CYI mentors gave brilliant elaborate presentations on the importance of credibility and how to write a good introduction and conclusion paragraph. The presentations were filled with cool videos, colorful themes, and concise bullet points. We talked about the 4 main elements that go in an introduction and a conclusion. Introduction:
1. Hook 2. Brief overview of what you will be discussing 3. Establishing credibility 4. Transition sentence Conclusion: 1. Transition sentence 2. Short summary of main points 3. Restate central idea 4. Call to action/Conclusion statement To help us fully understand and remember these points, the CYI mentors made a fun kahoot game! 5 questions were asked in this kahoot about the elements of an introduction and conclusion speech and establishing credibility and why it is important. Kate came in 2nd place out of all 15 students AND mentors who joined! Great job Kate! Overall, the 2nd CHEER and CYI speech class was very informational and fun. All the students, no matter what age, were interactive and collaborative. Thank you mentors for putting so much hard work and time into this session!
